It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Jon Theisen, the son of Leonard Theisen, the owner of Site Development, a long-time MITA member firm. Eric was in the MITA Future Leaders Class #2 and was a regular attendee at the MITA Metro Golf Outing.
From the age of two, Eric created job sites in the sand with his construction toys, rode backhoes, loaders and bulldozers, eventually operated them and then estimated construction projects for Site Development. He also had a passion to do Habitat for Humanity builds all over the world. He went on 12 out-of-country builds and also did a couple of local builds. He had a big heart for helping people and wanting to make their lives better. He loved doing the hard, dirty work of building the homes, playing with the children, living in their culture, seeing how they lived and what they ate. Eric loved to travel, to see the world and to explore.
A visitation will be held at Modetz Funeral Home Silverbell Chapel, 100 East Silverbell Road, Orion, Michigan on Monday, June 28, 2021, from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m., with a sharing time at 6:30 p.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Eric’s final resting place will be Cadillac Memorial Gardens East. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 121 Habitat Street, Americus, Georgia, 31709.
