The following statement from Lance Binoniemi, vice president of government affairs for the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association, provides reaction to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s “State of the State” call to fix the Michigan’s aging and crumbling infrastructure.
“Michigan voters are waiting and watching to see if the 100th state Legislature will finally pass a real solution to fix the state’s crumbling infrastructure, including roads and bridges, water systems, aging dams, and wastewater and stormwater systems. In nearly every public opinion poll of the past few years, fixing roads and other infrastructure has been the top concern of Michigan voters. A real long-term solution is what voters expect from the new legislature, not another Band-Aid.”]

Also, on February 12 MITA and the FixMIState campaign released one of three new 30-second videos calling on the Legislature to fix the state’s infrastructure. The videos will be used in online ads across the state, and will be sent to all state legislators.
