ARTBA Mobilizes Opposition to Gas Tax Suspension

Please see attached a recent correspondence from the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) regarding a proposal in Congress to temporarily suspend the federal gas tax and what you can do about it.
Suspending the federal gas tax, even for a short period of time, sets a bad precedent and could potentially destroy any progress Congress has made on their recent infrastructure bill, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
MITA is supporting ARTBA in its effort to stop this proposal and we encourage our members and their employees to do the same.  Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan is one of the six sponsors of the legislation. Click here to see our correspondence to her office.  If you would like to voice your opinion with Senator Stabenow her contact information is as follows.
The Honorable Debbie Stabenow
United States Senator
731 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
(202) 224-4822
