In support of the Governor Granholm’s “Buy Michigan First Initiative” the Department of Management and Budget, Facilities Administration, Design & Construction Division is co-sponsoring, along with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Macomb Community College, an outreach event, on June 11th, tailored specifically for the design and construction community.
“Buy Michigan First” is an outreach initiative with the goal of cutting the price tag of government while creating jobs, and spending state contract dollars with Michigan and under-represented companies.
The goals of this outreach are to:
- Increase awareness about state contracting opportunities with Michigan and under-represented companies
- Increase vendor registration among Michigan and under-represented companies
- Increase participation in bidding on contracts by Michigan and under-represented companies
