I Make America Campaign

Poor infrastructure is not just a Michigan problem. On the national level, at least 33 percent of our nation’s major roads are in poor or mediocre condition and 26 percent of bridges are structurally deficient or functionally obsolete.

At the national level, a campaign was recently kicked off by Dirty Jobs television show host Mike Roe that is aimed at pressuring Congress to make the needed investments in our nation’s crumbling infrastructure. The campaign is called I Make America, and the initiative is bringing contractors, equipment manufacturers and people of all political leanings together under one umbrella to urge Congress to immediately start to invest hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild our country’s roads, bridges, runways, sewers and dams.

Investing in our future not only makes perfect sense from a public policy standpoint, it would also create good-paying jobs overnight and boost our economy. Economic models show that each $1 billion invested in infrastructure translates into 30,000 jobs and $350 billion in economic activity.

Please help encourage Congress to make the much-needed investments in the future of our state and country by pledging your support for the I Make America campaign. Sign up your support and learn more about this ambitious initiative at www.IMakeAmerica.com.
