It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tim Sweet, a 26-year employee of MITA member E.T. MacKenzie Company based in Grand Ledge. He was 51 years old.
Tim was born in Lansing and graduated from Farwell Area Schools in 1985. He pursued his engineering passion by attending Michigan Tech in Houghton, where he earned two bachelor’s degrees.
Tim married his wife, Laurie, in October of 1989. At the time of his passing, they had been married for almost 30 years.
In addition to being a loving husband and a loyal employee, Tim was an alum of the Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity, as well as a member of the Fish Creek Sportsman’s Club. He was an avid fisherman, deer hunter and outsdoorman who enjoyed camping, watching NASCAR and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
Tim is survived by his wife, Laurie, his parents, his son and daughter-in-law, his in-laws, his brothers, and dogs Charlie, Rudy and Rory, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Memorial to take place on Sunday, April 28th, at 1:00 pm. It will be held at the Grant Town Hall on Surrey Road in Clare, MI.
