MDOT Announces Design-Build Project

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) intends on using a Design/Build procurement method to deliver an interchange replacement project in the Metro Region.  MDOT plans to short-list at least three teams, but no more than five teams, as part of this procurement.

 

The project is located in Auburn Hills, Oakland County.  The current interchange will be replaced with a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI).  University Drive will be reconstructed from Opdyke Road to Cross Creek Road as part of the project. The project will also include traffic signal installation, multi-use path, landscaping, decorative lighting, streetscape enhancements, Dynamic Message Sign removal, wetland mitigation, and the replacement of the existing structure over I-75.

The anticipated schedule is listed below and is subject to change.

 

Mid to Late April 2014: Issue Request for Qualifications (RFQ)
End of May 2014: Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) due
Early June 2014: Notification of short-listed submitters
Mid-August 2014: Issue Request for Proposals (RFP)
End of October 2014: Technical and price proposals due
End of November 2014: Anticipated contract award
