MDOT Rest Area ADA Design-Build Project

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) intends on using a Design-Build procurement method to correct Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) deficiencies at up to 78 of MDOT’s Rest Areas and Welcome Centers across the state. MDOT plans to issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in late December and a Request for Proposals (RFP) in late January or early February. The project letting is anticipated to be late March or early April 2019 and construction of improvements to facilities along the Interstate system is expected to be completed by December 2019. The remaining facility improvements will be completed in 2020.

An optional industry engagement meeting for this project is being held at the Dewitt Rest Area on Thursday, January 3rd.
