MITA’s Vice President of Government Affairs, Lance Binoniemi, thinks the bills could save a lot of lives as he reflects on the state’s most recent death. He said just two weeks ago, a work zone employee was killed by someone speeding in Detroit.

“This legislation is an attempt to slow traffic down; make sure that people are more alert within a work zone so they are paying attention to those individuals who are on the other side of the orange barrels,” Binoniemi said.
