Memorandum from Bob Patzer, Executive Vice President:
I am writing to ask for your help in keeping MITA’s influence in Lansing strong. It is of paramount importance to our industry that those of you who have so unselfishly given to our political endeavors renew your contributions when we notify you of your annual anniversary date. It is equally important that those who choose to “let the other guy do it” step up to the challenge, contribute to MITA-PAC and take the initiative to determine the direction of our industry.
Over the years, there has been sporadic criticism that this association makes contributions to lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. Well, I guess that we are guilty as charged and the results of the 2006 election have totally vindicated this practice. Your staff has one goal and that is to spend your hard earned money in an intelligent and efficient manner that clearly puts forth the MITA agenda.
It has been said that nothing succeeds like success and you have the right to demand results with your investment in our political endeavors on your behalf. To that end, click here to view our political accomplishments for 2006. Take a look at it and, when you do, I think you’ll agree that your financial support has generated meaningful success that hit at the heart of our industry’s problems.
Again to those who have contributed I say “thanks” and request that you contribute to your future again in 2007. To those of you who are disgusted with politics and politicians, I refer you to a quote from Sir Edmund Burke, “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for all good men to stand by and do nothing.”
Please do your part by sending your contribution, payable to the MITA-PAC today.
