Many MITA members and legislators have asked in recent weeks exactly what transportation funding bills the association is pursuing during lame duck session. Although bills are likely to be amended and added as the process moves forward, MITA staff wanted to share with you the bill numbers and concepts that MITA is promoting.
We would encourage you to share copies of this document with legislators and candidates that you speak with in the weeks ahead. MITA anticipates that there will be a two-week window of opportunity beginning on November 30th in which legislators will consider the issue of transportation funding. This may be our last reasonable opportunity to seek an increase for a couple of years, so it is imperative that you and your employees actively engage your legislators right now.
