RE: Road Table Agreement Reached between MITA and the Michigan Teamsters Joint Council 43
After several failed ratification attempts by the Teamsters, MITA has finally reached a new table agreement with the Michigan Teamsters Joint Council 43 (click here to view the Table Agreement). The economics of this settlement amount to an average annual increase of approximately 2.1% per year on the total package over the life of the agreement. Once approved this new agreement will retroactively go into effect as of June 1, 2013.
The fringe benefit adjustments (Health & Welfare and Pension) that are listed in this table agreement should be the contribution amount that is currently being paid. As there is no wage adjustment in this settlement, there will be no need to be concerned about retroactive pay adjustments back to June 1, 2013.
