September is Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month.
Throughout the month, Healing with Katie, in partnership with MITA, will be creating The Tree of Remembrance — a visual tribute honoring the individuals connected to our trades community whose lives were lost to suicide.
We spend a lot of time talking about awareness. We talk about prevention. We talk about recognizing the signs, speaking up, checking on our people, and making resources available.
All of that matters.
But we also don’t want to forget the people who are no longer here.
Behind every statistic is a person. A coworker. A friend. A brother or sister. A parent. A son or daughter. Someone who was part of a crew, a company, a family, and a community.
We want their names to be remembered.
Throughout September, names submitted to us will be placed on leaves and added to The Tree of Remembrance. As the month continues, the tree will grow—each leaf representing a life, a story, and someone who mattered.
If you have lost someone to suicide who was connected to the trades community, please share their name with us.
Send their name(s) to:
coach@healingwithkatie.com
Throughout the month, we will also be sharing updates as the tree grows, continuing conversations around suicide prevention, mental health, and the importance of taking care of the people behind the work.
There is no cost to submit a name. This is simply about remembering them.
They were here. They mattered. And they should not be forgotten.
Please feel free to forward this email and share The Tree of Remembrance with others throughout the trades community.
Together, we remember.
Together, we raise awareness.
Together, we continue working toward prevention.
