URGENT LEGISLATIVE ACTION REQUIRED

House bills that would raise $1.5 billion a year in new transportation money must be passed by the Michigan House of Representatives TODAY or else face a significant delay.

The only vehicle bills for the transportation proposal are in the House, meaning the House must act today.

The primary bills up for consideration would change our gas tax structure to a wholesale percentage tax, registration fee adjustments (which include loophole closures), local options and P3/toll road legislation.

We need all interested parties to lobby these issues with both House Democrats and Republicans.  Bipartisan support is critical.

Please call or personally visit House members TODAY and tell them it’s urgent that they pass the transportation investment plan.

Mike Nystrom and Keith Ledbetter will be down at the capitol and available for updates all day.  Click here for a copy of the plan.

Please contact Mike Nystrom at mikenystrom@mi-ita.com or Keith Ledbetter at keithledbetter@mi-ita.com or call the MITA office at 517-347-8336 with any questions or comments.
