2018 National Work Zone Awareness Week, April 9-13 – “Work Zone Safety: Everybody’s Responsibility”

Each year in the spring, National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is held to bring national attention to motorist and worker safety and mobility issues in work zones.  The key message is for drivers to use extra caution in work zones.  Please join MITA in participating in NWZAW to be held April 9th through April 13th.

This year MITA is teaming up with officials from MDOT, the Michigan State Police (MSP), American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), and Consumers Energy to host a news conference and public event to kick-off NWZAW in Michigan.  The kick-off event is scheduled for Monday, April 9th at 11 AM, at the Office of PK Contracting in Troy, Michigan.

For more information on the event, please click here.

In addition, MITA has NWZAW posters available for your use.  Please stop by the MITA office to pick some up or contact Rachelle VanDeventer at rachellevandeventer@thinkmita.org to have some sent to your office.  An electronic version of the poster can be accessed here.
