Construction Training and Certification

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the related unprecedented chain of events, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has cancelled all training courses (effective March 16, 2020) that allow sampling and testing personnel to become certified in multiple industry areas. Because of this, MDOT has partnered with the FHWA to extend 2020 construction certification expirations for one year. Click here for more information.

In addition, the Michigan Concrete Association (MCA) has posted on their website that all MCA Certification classes through April 30th have been cancelled. At this time, MCA is anticipating they will continue with a 2020 training schedule when it is allowable.

MCA and MDOT have partnered in submitting a request to the FHWA to grant an extension for the related expiration of existing 2020 concrete certifications. The FHWA responded to that request allowing MCA certifications set to expire in 2020 to be extended and to expire on December 31, 2020.
