In 2009, MDOT released a newly created on-line reporting system to receive feedback on the content and quality of the plan and proposal packages. This electronic portal is intended to be the “feedback loop” by which contractors and engineers provide constructive comments that will result in improvements in the next generation of project plan and proposal packages.
During the 2010 MITA Annual Conference, MDOT reiterated that this “feedback loop” is available and ready for use. MDOT stressed the importance of receiving your feedback to more effectively improve the design documents.
As you finalize your projects this winter (or prepare for 2010 work), make sure that you visit the MDOT DPE online website and submit you comments. Your comments will have an impact.
All contractors (primes and subs) are encouraged to complete the DPE with written comments to support their ratings.
