MDOT Not Planning to Shut Down Construction Projects

MDOT leadership has informed MITA that based on current orders and directions coming out of the federal government and the Governor’s office related to COVID-19, they do not plan to shut down or delay work on their construction projects or maintenance activities.

Since the COVID-19 situation is continuously changing and very dynamic at both the national and state levels, new orders and/or direction could come out from either government level at any point in time that could change MDOT’s outlook and action as it relates to their current construction projects and maintenance activities.

MDOT leadership has indicated that their field staff will be fully engaged on construction projects, although some of their administrative staff may be working remotely.

Stay tuned for future MITA bulletins regarding any updates that come out of MDOT as it relates to their ongoing construction and maintenance activities.
