MITA REACHES TABLE AGREEMENT SETTLEMENT WITH MI REGIONAL COUNCIL OF CARPENTERS FOR FIVE-YEAR DEAL THROUGH MAY 2026 FOR DETROIT AREA CONTRACT

A committee made up of Labor Relations Division (LRD) members of MITA who are signatory with the Carpenters Detroit Area Agreement have reached a settlement with that union for a five-year deal. That agreement includes some language changes.

The language updates include many housekeeping items, but also incorporate some changes to the foreman rate and apprenticeship practices in the contract.

The economics of the five-year agreement includes a $1.72 increase in the first year, a $1.71 increase in the second year, an increase of $2.13 in the third year, and $2.40 and $2.42 adjustments in the fourth and fifth years. The total increase averages approximately 3.5% per year when spread over the five years.

Attached, you will find a copy of the Table Agreement along with a ballot in order for your voice to be heard. Please fill out the ballot and send it back to MITA by Friday, May 14, 2021. It can be emailed to saraschaibly@thinkmita.org.

If you have any questions about these negotiations and/or this settlement, please feel free to contact Mike Nystrom, Executive Vice President at the MITA office at (517) 347-8336.
