MITA Releases Workforce Development Needs Survey

As we all are hopeful for an ultimate end date of the Governor’s Stay Home, Stay Safe mandate, MITA would like you to take a few minutes to answer some questions regarding your company’s workforce needs. It is anticipated that with the shutdown, our labor shortage needs could be magnified, and the information gathered from this survey will be even more valuable to help us develop programs that will be beneficial for all MITA members.

Workforce development needs continue to be an important issue for the heavy/highway construction industry, and we know that MITA members are key to helping us close that gap across the state. Because your input is important and valued, MITA originally developed this survey prior to the pandemic to determine the workforce industry needs in Michigan.

The survey is designed to take approximately 10 minutes or less of your time, is anonymous, and requires no long answers.

The information gathered will be compiled into a report that will describe the survey, its objectives, its results, and any workforce patterns or trends found within our industry. The report findings will help guide existing workforce development efforts that MITA is currently working on, and they will help us set strategic direction for future industry workforce development initiatives. This is something that has never been done for Michigan or our industry, so having a large number of participants will provide better and more useful results.
