Now Accepting Applications: MITA Future Leaders Development Program

MITA is now accepting applications for the 2026 Future Leaders Development Program, a selective leadership experience designed to prepare the next generation of industry leaders in Michigan’s heavy construction sector.

This program is open to individuals working in the heavy construction industry who have demonstrated leadership potential and are being groomed for advancement into upper management. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants will gain a broad-based educational and personal experience focused on leadership development, industry advocacy, and professional growth.

Program highlights include:
• Leadership skill development focused on communication, advocacy, and decision-making
• Exposure to MITA operations, industry issues, and association leadership
• Insight into regulatory, safety, and management topics relevant to today’s construction leaders
• Opportunities to build meaningful peer and industry connections

Program requirements:
Attendance at all program sessions and one MITA Board of Directors meeting
Submission of a resume and a letter of recommendation from company leadership
Participation is limited; applicants will be selected by MITA staff and may be reviewed by the MITA Board of Directors

The cost per accepted participant is $1,500, which includes all program sessions with lunch, attendance at MITA holiday parties, and registration for the 2027 MITA Annual Conference.
