MDOT continues their focus on prevailing wage compliance. They have asked MITA to distribute the following information regarding the payment of prevailing wages for Concrete Pump Truck Operators.
When Concrete Pump trucks are on-site pumping concrete, all time spent on the site of work is covered by prevailing wages. This work is covered as an operator typically under the:
ENGI0324-006: Group 1 or Group 5, depending on the size of the pump outlet.
THE DRIVER OF THESE TYPE OF TRUCKS ARE NOT CONSIDERED TRUCK DRIVERS. Therefore they are NOT subject to the “de minimus” rule (covered if working 20% of the workweek on site), ALL time spent on site is covered.
It is required that a certified payroll for these operators be turned in to reflect this covered work regardless of a subcontract, P.O. or any other arrangement between the prime contractor. MDOT will conduct wage rate interviews just as with any other covered work on a project.
