The clock is ticking, and we are rapidly approaching May 5. In just a few short days, we will be ONE MONTH OUT. The time has come to really zero in on what we like to call GOTV (Get Out The Vote) efforts. We really want to make sure that we are all doing everything we can to increase voter turnout on May 5.
The deadline to register to vote is Monday, April 6. If there is ANYONE at your respective companies who is NOT registered to vote, please point them in the right direction to get registered in a timely fashion so that they will be eligible to vote for Proposal 1 on May 5. This is critical and extremely important.
Additionally, if you know that you will not be in your voting precinct on May 5, make arrangements NOW to vote via absent voter ballot. Absent voter ballots are already available, which means you can submit an application for an absent voter ballot today! We strongly encourage those of you who will be voting absentee to take care of that sooner rather than later. Once you receive your absent voter ballot, there is no reason why you can’t immediately fill it out and return it to your clerk’s office. Before anyone asks, your absent voter ballots DO count, even though you don’t submit them on election day.
Information regarding voter registration and absent voter ballot applications is available at www.mi.gov/sos or you can use the information and forms we have provided on our MITA Proposal 1 Quick Links page:
