The MITA bulletin earlier this week regarding vehicle registration renewals created additional questions regarding the titling and licensure of new vehicles or trailers while Secretary of State (SOS) branch offices are closed. The SOS office has given MITA the following guidance for those who are purchasing new vehicles that need to be registered for critical infrastructure projects while the SOS branch offices are closed.
For the individuals and groups that meet the criteria defined in the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order, please email the following information to lancebinoniemi@thinkmita.org.
Title documentation if a new vehicle.
Purchase information if title not available for new trailers.
Best phone number and email address for SOS to contact.
The SOS office will review these requests as they are received and contact the individual directly should their emergency appointment request be approved.
