Transportation project development and delivery in Michigan has advanced significantly over the past decade. Current infrastructure projects in Michigan rely on digital project delivery methods including, but not limited, the use of 3D engineered models, electronic engineering data, Automated Machine Guidance (AMG) and paperless contract administration. There is a need for collaboration among contractors, owner agencies, and consultant service providers to have a sustained mechanism of engagement to ensure that these concepts advance.
To help aid in these advancements a Digital Delivery Work Group is being formed that will provide a team comprised of MITA, MDOT and ACEC personnel to evaluate and advance digital delivery concepts from incubation to full implementation. The team will act as a sounding board for stakeholder ideas and concerns and make recommendations for successful piloting and implementation of digital delivery concepts.
To help with future efforts and goals, including reviewing MDOT’s current AMG Special Provision, MITA is requesting volunteers to represent industry on digital delivery ongoing efforts. Please email rachellevandeventer@mi-ita.com if you are interested in volunteering.
