MDOT has planned to pilot e-Ticketing during the 2022 construction season, with the hopes of adding the Special Provision (found here) to projects upon request.
MDOT has notified MITA that they are still in need of pilot projects to help them better assess the future implementation of e-ticketing based on the experiences of this pilot season.
The pilot special provision can be added by contract modification upon mutual agreement between MDOT and the prime contractor. The pilot special provision is permissive as not all projects will have suppliers ready for e-ticketing or there may be projects located in geographical locations that have dead spots for data transfer.
