On February 28th, 2023 MDOT released a revision to the January 25th Contractor Announcement notifying of process changes for the 2023 April bid lettings. The announcement (found here) stated that MDOT will proceed with its plan to not publish the Eligible Bidders List and will provide a financial range (now expanded from the initial announcement) in lieu of an actual financial rating. MDOT indicates it will inform potential bidders via email of their eligibility for requested projects, but will not disclose the deficiency of the contractor’s net rating or classification rating.
MITA will continue to communicate our industry concerns and opposition with the proposed pilot to MDOT leadership. We will continue to keep the membership informed of any further conversations.
