MITA Extends Scholarship Application Deadline Due To COVID-19 Delays

Due to the recent closures/delays/executive orders related to the COVID-19/Coronavirus mitigation efforts, we are extending the deadline to apply for a 2020-2021 scholarship by 2.5 weeks. The new deadline to submit all applications ELECTRONICALLY is Friday, April 17, 2020 by 5:00 pm. Please remit all completed applications to Mariam Robinson, Director of Strategic Affairs, at mariamrobinson@thinkmita.org. Incomplete applications will NOT be accepted.

As a reminder, completed applications must include the following items:

  • Official college or high school transcripts
  • Resume outlining work experience and/or extra-curricular activities
  • 500 word 12 pt. font essay outlining why you want to pursue a career in the heavy/highway construction industry (must demonstrate an understanding of the industry and MITA)
  • Up to 3 letters of recommendation not to exceed 1 page in length each

The MITA Scholarship Fund accepts donations all year round. Checks can be made out to MITA, Inc. with the words MITA Scholarship Fund written in the memo line. They may be mailed to MITA, Inc., P.O. Box 1640, Okemos, MI 48805.
